MENTORS

Youth Science Connection is a free online program that allows high school students to complete STEM projects at home under the virtual guidance of a college mentor. Through our program high school students come up with a project that they can do at home, write a scientific research proposal, and make a scientific poster. Youth Science Connection provides a way for high school students to engage with the scientific method at their own pace while also getting to speak to an undergraduate student who can give perspective on what it is like to be a STEM major.  In addition, our program takes place entirely online so students can learn and receive mentoring while still engaging in social distancing. Through mentorship Youth Science Connection ultimately aims to increase the matriculation of underrepresented students into STEM.
